BJP Lok Sabha MP Jyotirmoy Singh Mahato has written to the West Bengal Governor, demanding an investigation into the alleged systematic targeting of Hindu girls by the Trinamool Congress (TMC) for demographic manipulation. Mahato accuses TMC of operating the 'Didir Begum Model' to facilitate marriages between Hindu girls from Scheduled Castes and Muslim men.

The BJP representative claims that this practice seeks to alter the state's demographic balance for political gain, with the TMC's student wing purportedly appointing Muslim leaders to student unions to attract Hindu girls with incentives like leadership roles and educational admissions.

Mahato also alleges that TMC has empowered Muslim enforcers by giving them party roles and contracts, and accuses the party of creating marriage syndicates in border regions to fast-track citizenship for illegal migrants, thereby expanding their voter base. He called for a high-level probe into the alleged practices.
