A BJP MLA found himself briefly expelled from the Gujarat assembly on Tuesday after breaching decorum during the session. Mohan Dhodiya was caught chatting as his party colleague Bhaga Barad posed a question to Speaker Shankar Chaudhary, leading to disciplinary action.
The incident occurred as Dhodiya crossed over while Barad addressed the House, a clear violation of legislative conduct rules that prohibit such actions. Consequently, the Mahuva legislator was asked to vacate the assembly floor temporarily.
Speaker Shankar Chaudhary had previously cautioned legislators to uphold discipline and refrain from unnecessary chatter during proceedings, with Dhodiya's actions now underscoring the strict enforcement of these rules within the assembly.
