Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Monday called for the dismissal of Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister, DK Shivakumar, amid outrage over his purported comments on the Constitution. The controversy heightened as BJP leaders protested against Shivakumar's alleged remarks, drawing widespread attention.

Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh accused the BJP of employing 'diversionary tactics' in Parliament to attack Shivakumar. He insisted that the BJP distorted the Karnataka government's policy, which involved providing a four percent reservation for Muslims in public contracts—a measure initially introduced as part of the OBC reservations in 2014.

In response to the BJP's allegations, Shivakumar denied making any statements about changing the Constitution, accusing the BJP of misrepresenting his words to foster misinformation. As the dispute escalated, proceedings in both Houses of Parliament were disrupted, with BJP and Congress leaders exchanging accusations over the issue.
