Kherson: Life Amid Relentless Drone Strikes
Residents of Kherson, Ukraine, struggle under relentless drone attacks as they dream of peace. A proposed ceasefire agreement between Russia and Ukraine could provide hope, but the city's dwindling population remains wary. Despite the danger, many residents choose to stay in their homeland.

In the besieged Ukrainian city of Kherson, residents endure constant drone attacks even as peace talks continue between Russian and U.S. negotiators. The city, once home to nearly 300,000 people, is now a shadow of its former self, with only about 60,000 remaining amidst the chaos.
Among those affected are Serhiy, a 64-year-old security guard, and Ihor, a 30-year-old civilian, who both suffered severe injuries from grenades dropped by drones. Despite ongoing threats, hope persists for a ceasefire to succeed and bring relief from the relentless terror.
The city stands as a testament to resilience, with many opting to stay despite the dangers. Governor Oleksandr Prokudin reported increased drone attacks, further exacerbating the peril. Yet, citizens like Tetiana Kudas refuse to leave their homes, preferring the risk over displacement.
