In a dramatic display of political protest, Congress legislators on Tuesday took to the assembly grounds in Madhya Pradesh bearing plastic snakes to symbolize the inaction of the BJP-led government concerning massive job vacancies. The striking demonstration was held in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue, capturing the urgency of their demand for immediate government attention.
Umang Singhar, the Leader of Opposition, spearheaded the protest, emphasizing the plight of unemployed youth. He criticized the state government's halt on recruitment in vital sectors like police, education, irrigation, and health. The Congress party fiercely accused the government of 'biting' the prospects of young job seekers by leaving vacancies unfilled.
The protest highlighted a significant number of unfilled positions, with Singhar pointing out that over 70,000 jobs in the education department alone remain vacant. The Congress urged the government to act swiftly to address the unemployment crisis and prevent the state's youth from enduring further hardships.
