Zoram People's Movement (ZPM), the ruling party in Mizoram, has claimed a decisive victory in the village and local council elections, as confirmed by the State Election Commission (SEC). ZPM won 266 of the 543 village councils (VCs) and 54 of the 110 local councils (LCs), reinforcing its political stronghold.

The election results positioned Congress winning in 43 VCs and 14 LCs, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured just one VC. The analysis revealed that there were also instances where independent candidates emerged victorious, clinching seven VCs and two LCs. Despite these numbers, no clear majority was observed in 104 VCs and 13 LCs.

In terms of seat allocation, ZPM took 1,153 seats in 543 VCs, followed by the MNF with 744 seats, Congress gaining 406, BJP securing 17, Hmar People's Convention with 4, and independents taking 87. The local councils saw ZPM winning 363 seats with MNF claiming 197, Congress 147, and independents 11. Voter engagement was noteworthy, with a turnout rate of approximately 75% in VCs and nearly 64.79% in LCs.
