In a robust rebuttal, Defence Expert Captain Anil Gaur accused West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of playing a major role in settling illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators in India and ensuring their voter list inclusion. On Thursday, Gaur argued that Banerjee's allegations against the Border Security Force (BSF) were misplaced. He maintained that her administration, not the BSF, was facilitating the infiltrators. According to Captain Gaur, Banerjee's comments were a tactic to appeal to her voter base.
Meanwhile, addressing the State Administrative Review Meeting at Nabanna Sabhaghar in Kolkata, CM Mamata Banerjee sharply criticized the BSF. She claimed the BSF was aiding militants and infiltrators from Bangladesh to cross into the state, leading to regional disruptions. Banerjee warned that if the BSF persisted in these activities, her party, the Trinamool Congress (TMC), would openly protest.
Banerjee passionately accused the BSF, responsible for the borders' security, of permitting individuals to enter India from areas such as Islampur, Sitai, and Chopra. She insinuated the involvement of a 'blueprint' by the central government in facilitating this activity. Denying any TMC involvement in the alleged infiltration, Banerjee asserted that the blame should rest on the BSF. She further accused the force of committing atrocities against women, intensifying the clash over infiltration issues.
