North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and his daughter, Ju Ae, participated in New Year's celebrations that featured spectacular fireworks and an ice dancing performance, according to state media KCNA.

High-ranking North Korean officials were seen attending the events alongside them, as shown in state media photographs. Curiously, there was no public speech delivered by Kim during the festivities.

KCNA also revealed that Kim had expressed his commitment to enhancing North Korea's strategic partnership with Russia through a letter addressed to President Vladimir Putin.
