Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has criticized the Central government over the controversy regarding the cremation and memorial of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Gehlot claimed the issue arose because the Centre did not promptly decide on a suitable site.
The veteran Congress leader condemned the BJP government in Rajasthan as well, labeling it ineffective and accusing it of dissolving districts without valid reasons. Gehlot further expressed disappointment over the handling of Singh's last rites at Nigambodh Ghat rather than a memorial site.
Gehlot highlighted Congress offering an alternative cremation site associated with former leaders, while Rajasthan Congress Chief Govind Singh Dotasra questioned the state government's decisions, seeking clarity on committee criteria for district dissolution.
