Leaders from the INDIA bloc have united in their denunciation of Home Minister Amit Shah following his contentious remarks about BR Ambedkar. Congress MP Kumari Selja vocally expressed her disapproval, asserting that Ambedkar holds a revered position akin to a deity. Selja criticized Shah, labeling his comments as an affront to both Ambedkar and India's Constitution.

NCP-SCP MLA Jitendra Awhad added fuel to the debate, emphasizing that Ambedkar symbolizes a profound commitment, not a fleeting trend. Awhad credited Ambedkar with saving the nation from regressive ideologies, suggesting that those in opposition lacked genuine respect for Ambedkar's legacy.

In a similar vein, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav condemned Shah's statements, interpreting them as reflective of a broader BJP and RSS mindset. Yadav reinforced the notion that Ambedkar remains a central figure of inspiration and motivation for many.

The controversy erupted after Shah accused the Congress party of exploiting Ambedkar's name for political gain. He provocatively suggested that the Congress leaders might as well invoke divine names if they seek spiritual fulfillment.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi further escalated the dispute, supporting Shah's perspective by accusing Congress of historically neglecting the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities. Modi argued that despite long stints in power, Congress failed to effectuate meaningful progress for these marginalized groups.
