Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Wednesday condemned the opposition's ongoing protests, accusing the Congress party of orchestrating a 'conspiracy against BR Ambedkar'. He questioned their respect for the former Minister of Law and Justice of India, asserting a lack of genuine reverence.

Highlighting his own Buddhist heritage, Rijiju stated that he is the first Buddhist since Ambedkar to serve as Union Law Minister, emphasizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's role in placing him in Ambedkar's esteemed position. Rijiju accused Congress of manipulating a clip of Union Home Minister Amit Shah's speech regarding Ambedkar.

During a press conference, Rijiju challenged Congress to cite a single contribution towards Ambedkar's legacy, asserting that the party is engaging in 'political drama.' He condemned the viral spread of edited remarks by Home Minister Shah. Recalling historical events, Rijiju accused Congress of disrespecting Ambedkar to the extent of forcing his resignation and orchestrating his electoral defeat. He defended Shah's remarks, emphasizing the reverence they expressed for Ambedkar amidst opposition protests leading to an adjourned Parliament session.
