In a significant development, a Delhi court has granted Umar Khalid, known for his alleged involvement in the 2020 Delhi riots, a seven-day interim bail. The former Jawaharlal Nehru University student sought permission to attend a family event.

Additional Sessions Judge Sameer Bajpai made the ruling on Wednesday, allowing Khalid temporary respite from judicial procedures in order to partake in a family wedding.

The detailed order from the court remains awaited, as the legal proceedings continue in the high-profile conspiracy case related to the northeast Delhi riots of February 2020.
