Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took aim at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's governance during a pre-election rally in Maharashtra, contending that Modi's policies diverge from the teachings of the Indian Constitution. Gandhi accused the Prime Minister of favoring the rich, as evidenced by waiving Rs 16 lakh crore of rich individuals' loans while ignoring those of the poorer populace and farmers.
Gandhi went further, addressing ongoing issues in Manipur and criticizing Modi's lack of action or presence there, even as the region has been in turmoil for over a year. Displaying a copy of the Constitution, Gandhi argued it is not understood by Modi, asserting, 'It is the voice of the country and contains the history and soul of India.'
The Opposition Leader also highlighted concerns about economic disparities and social justice, emphasizing the low representation of Dalits, Adivasis, and Backward Classes in central bureaucracy. Doubts were raised over the recent shifting of major projects from Maharashtra to Gujarat, which Gandhi linked to favoritism towards certain industrialists.
