Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress and its allies on Thursday, accusing them of plotting to introduce a separate Constitution for Kashmir. His comments came during a rally in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, ahead of the November 20 state assembly elections in Maharashtra.
Addressing the gathering, Modi questioned if Maharashtra would support parties that, in his view, 'speak the language of Pakistan.' He asserted that every Indian desires a unified Constitution for Kashmir and extolled the BJP-led Mahayuti government's decision to rename Aurangabad as Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, a long-time demand of the late Shiv Sena leader Bal Thackeray.
Modi continued by highlighting the economic strides made under the Mahayuti government, noting Maharashtra's success in attracting significant foreign direct investment and elevating Marathi to classical language status. He portrayed the election as a choice between patriotic forces and those who laud figures from a contentious past, framing it as pivotal for the state's progress.
