Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and BJP MP, Ashok Chavan, has criticized the campaign slogan 'batenge to katenge' employed by the BJP during election rallies, viewing it as distasteful and irrelevant. In a statement to PTI, Chavan emphasized that development should be prioritized over divisive rhetoric in the political discourse ahead of upcoming assembly polls.
Chavan, who transitioned to the BJP from Congress earlier this year, downplayed the ongoing 'vote jihad-dharma yuddha' narrative, underscoring development as his sole agenda. He reaffirmed the ruling Mahayuti's commitment to fostering a developed Maharashtra and India, as advocated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Addressing concerns about the Maratha reservation issue, Chavan remarked on the government's recent legislative efforts to address community demands. With upcoming elections, he expressed optimism about Mahayuti's prospects, attributing their success to the state government's initiatives and public enthusiasm witnessed during recent rallies.
