The JMM has criticized the BJP-led Centre for conducting Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids in Jharkhand, accusing it of advancing its Bangladeshi infiltration narrative ahead of the assembly polls. The raids took place a day before the first phase of voting, sparking political tension.
According to JMM representatives, the central agency's actions were strategically timed to mislead voters and bolster the BJP's electoral campaign. The Congress, an ally of the JMM, echoed these sentiments, accusing the BJP of trying to preserve its political influence in the state.
Manoj Pandey of JMM warned that these tactics would not succeed, as voters were aware of the underlying political motives. Criticism was also directed towards Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who was allegedly sent to polarize votes. Despite BJP's efforts, the opposition believes it will receive a strong rebuke at the polls.
