Prime Minister Narendra Modi has escalated his criticism of the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance in Maharashtra amidst claims of internal discord. Speaking at a rally in Solapur ahead of the November 20 state assembly elections, Modi described the alliance's internal conflicts as a 'stampede' and a 'tug-of-war' over leadership positions.
Modi asserted that the BJP-led Mahayuti government has been instrumental in overcoming decades-long delays in project completions, mainly in irrigation, which has historically troubled farmers in the region. According to Modi, these achievements contrast sharply with the opposition's failure to address key issues, claiming credit for rising water tables in Solapur villages.
The Prime Minister also alleged that the Congress party's governance kept people preoccupied with various unresolved issues. He emphasized the need for a stable government under the BJP to ensure the implementation of long-term policies, further promoting initiatives like the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, which he says is causing unrest among the opposition.
