Dutch Crackdown: Arrests Made After Antisemitic Attacks
Dutch police have arrested five more people linked to antisemitic attacks on Israeli soccer supporters after a match between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Ajax Amsterdam. This brings the total to 68 arrests. The attacks, condemned by local and international leaders, left several people injured.
In the wake of antisemitic attacks targeting Israeli football fans in the Netherlands, Dutch police have apprehended an additional five suspects. The men, ranging in age from 18 to 37, were taken into custody following incidents after a match featuring Maccabi Tel Aviv and Ajax Amsterdam.
This development brings the number of arrests to 68, following previous detentions connected to the violence, which has been widely denounced. Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof pledged to hold those responsible fully accountable, labeling the attacks as 'shocking and reprehensible.'
The incidents have drawn international condemnation, including from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Authorities continue to investigate the events surrounding the attacks and altercations in Amsterdam.
