In a show of solidarity, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav visited the family of jailed party leader Md Azam Khan on Monday, pledging unwavering support.
Khan, a former Member of Parliament, is incarcerated in Sitapur Jail with his son Abdullah Azam in Hardoi Jail, both facing multiple allegations.
After meeting with Khan's wife, Tazeen Fatima, Yadav thanked Rampur's electorate for backing the PDA and assured that, if elected, his party would dismiss the allegedly fabricated charges against Khan.
Yadav, voicing sharp criticism of the BJP, called on his party to maintain the struggle to uphold the Constitution. He expressed confidence in the judicial system to deliver justice for Khan.
