An FIR has been filed against the BJP’s Jharkhand unit in Ranchi for alleged violations of the model code of conduct due to misleading videos posted on the 'BJP 4 Jharkhand' social media account. The videos target INDIA bloc leaders, and legal action has been initiated, confirmed sources on Monday.

The cybercrime police station in Ranchi has written to the social media platform involved, requesting the removal of the objectionable posts in accordance with Section 69(A) of the IT Act, sources revealed. This action follows a complaint from Congress leader Jairam Ramesh to the Election Commission regarding the perceived influence on voters.

The videos, which allegedly contain baseless claims against leaders like Hemant Soren, Rahul Gandhi, and Tejashwi Yadav, are said to dissuade voters from supporting opposition parties in the upcoming Jharkhand assembly elections on November 13 and 20. Ramesh has pushed for immediate removal of these posts and action against the BJP social media account.
