Members of a key Bangladeshi student group, instrumental in the ouster of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, prevented Awami League supporters from holding a scheduled rally on Sunday, chasing and assaulting party activists.
This incident followed the interim government's announcement by Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus, a day earlier, prohibiting the Awami League from holding the rally.
Despite police presence, the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and other political groups reportedly clashed with and assaulted at least seven Awami League supporters. The unrest led to significant traffic disruptions as protesters at Zero Point held demonstrations against 'fascist Hasina,' seeking accountability for alleged mass killings.
