Donald Trump has emerged victorious in Arizona, one of the key battleground states, as he clinched the US presidential election. Trump's successful campaign theme focused on strict border security, pledging mass deportations and additional resources for border patrol, which resonated well with Arizona voters amid a significant influx of migrants.
In the election, Trump overturned six other states that had previously supported Joe Biden. These were Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and North Carolina. His win in Arizona added 11 electoral votes, bringing his total to 312, while Kamala Harris, his Democratic rival, secured 226.
The Republican Party is emboldened by this result, regaining control of the Senate with 52 seats and nearing a majority in the House of Representatives. Trump is set to be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on January 20, marking a significant shift in American politics.
