Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has accused the Congress party of hypocrisy, stating that while they criticize the BJP for possible constitutional changes, they themselves made amendments when in power. Speaking at campaign rallies in Wardha, Gadkari described the BJP as a party of the people, contrasting it with Congress's dynastic approach.
Gadkari highlighted that, according to the Supreme Court's Kesavananda Bharati judgment, the constitution's core features cannot be altered. He recalled past amendments during Indira Gandhi's time and stressed that BJP's development focus could have alleviated rural poverty had Congress prioritized these issues.
Further, Gadkari expressed concern about the diminishing quality of political discourse and reiterated his support for reservations based on social and economic need, advocating for policy instead of divisive politics.
