In an unprecedented political move, U.S. President Joe Biden has extended an invitation to the Oval Office for President-elect Donald Trump, according to a statement from the White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.
The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, ahead of Trump's inauguration on January 20, following his electoral victory over current Vice President Kamala Harris.
President Biden, who had initially campaigned for reelection, withdrew his candidacy in July after facing significant challenges during a debate with Trump.
