Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini emphasized the state's initiatives to streamline Kharif crop purchases during the current marketing season, ensuring swift payments directly to farmers' bank accounts within 72 hours of the transaction. Saini shared that Rs 11,296 crore has already been paid out directly to farmers.
The early procurement of paddy, starting September 27 at Minimum Support Price (MSP), underscores the government's proactive measures to accommodate early arrivals at local mandis. The introduction of digital passes through a mobile app has significantly curtailed delays, allowing farmers seamless access and facilitating prompt crop sales.
Beyond facilitating transactions, the state government has increased commissions for middlemen from Rs 46 to Rs 55 per quintal, absorbing this financial burden. Additional incentives include a Rs 62.58 crore bonus for rice millers. Amidst accusations from Congress opposition, the government's arrangements have even drawn interest from farmers outside Haryana's borders, enhancing its reputation as a crop procurement hub.
