In a significant political reshuffle, the National Conference on Saturday appointed Showkat Ahamd Mir as the new provincial president for Kashmir. Mir, previously serving as provincial secretary, will assume leadership from Nasir Aslam Wani, who transitions to the role of advisor for Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
Nasir Aslam Wani's new position aims to strengthen political strategies under Abdullah's leadership, marking a strategic move within the party's hierarchy. Mir's appointment is expected to invigorate party operations within Kashmir.
The changes extend beyond provincial leadership, with Sajad Shafi Uri named as the Zonal President for the North Zone, succeeding Javid Ahmad Dar in this influential position. Meanwhile, Advocate Shahid Ali Shah is set to take on responsibilities as the District President of Baramulla, replacing Uri.
