A devastating remote-controlled explosion claimed the lives of seven individuals, including five schoolchildren, in Balochistan province on Friday. The attack, which occurred near a girl's high school in Mastung district, also left 17 others injured, spurring local hospitals into emergency mode.
According to Kalat Division Commissioner Naeem Bazai, the blast utilized an improvised explosive device (IED) attached to a motorcycle, which detonated as a police van approached. The force of the blast damaged several vehicles, affecting children and police officers passing nearby.
The Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti labeled the attack 'inhumane', highlighting the terrorists' focus on targeting 'soft targets' such as children. Amidst the chaos, 11 injured individuals were rushed to the Quetta Trauma Centre for urgent care.
