Maharashtra Opposition Gears Up for High-Stakes Assembly Election Campaign

The opposition bloc Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) is poised to kick off its campaign for the forthcoming Maharashtra assembly elections, starting on November 6, according to NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar. The campaign will be led by Pawar, alongside Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Shiv Sena (UBT) head Uddhav Thackeray.
In Baramati, Pune, Pawar addressed reporters, extending Diwali greetings and expressing hopes for the state's prosperity. He addressed concerns over intra-party contestations among MVA partners in some constituencies, stating only 10-12 seats had multiple candidates and a resolution is expected soon.
Pawar emphasized that MVA would present a common minimum programme to garner public support. Meanwhile, Senior Congress leader Nana Patole announced a joint rally on November 6 in Mumbai to present the opposition's electoral guarantees.
