Naim Kassem, the new leader of Hezbollah, has asserted that the militant group will persist in conflict with Israel until conditions for a ceasefire that meet their approval are offered. Speaking in a televised address, Kassem emphasized that Hezbollah will not relent, regardless of the duration required.
More than 2,790 fatalities and 12,700 injuries have occurred in Lebanon since the escalation, with over 1.2 million people displaced. Amid ongoing Israeli ground invasions, Hezbollah's retaliatory attacks have killed 63 in Israel. Kassem, formerly deputy to slain Hassan Nasrallah, claims the group's capabilities remain intact.
International mediators, including Lebanese officials, continued efforts for peace, yet negotiations have stalled. Israeli leaders have already indicated that Kassem might be targeted following his latest speeches. Meanwhile, further airstrikes underscore the sustained violence affecting the region.
