Naim Kassem, the newly named leader of Hezbollah, declared that the group would continue its fight against Israel until acceptable cease-fire terms are presented. His comments were broadcasted publicly for the first time on Wednesday.
Kassem, a founding member and cleric, succeeds Hassan Nasrallah after his death in an Israeli airstrike. Despite recent internal challenges, such as targeted attacks on key figures, Hezbollah remains resolute in its military strategies and coordination efforts with Lebanese officials.
As Kassem delivered his speech, Israeli airstrikes targeted the city of Baalbek. Meanwhile, international mediators are attempting to facilitate cease-fires amidst escalating violence, which has already resulted in thousands of casualties and the displacement of over a million people in Lebanon.
