In a significant development, Congress MP Mallu Ravi declared on Wednesday that a resolution for conducting a caste census in Telangana has been unanimously passed by a body of public representatives, including Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. This initiative, driven by the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), aims to methodically execute the caste census with ascribed coordinators overseeing each district. The decision materialized during a session at Hyderabad's Gandhi Bhavan, gathering MPs, MLAs, and MLCs to deliberate their roles in facilitating the census.

The meeting outlined that Congress leaders, encompassing MPs, MLAs, MLCs, and chairpersons, are entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring the successful conduction of the caste census. Per the strategic vision set by Rahul Gandhi, the TPCC district presidents are tasked with appointing coordinators across districts. Ravi emphasized, 'Rahul Gandhi's directive for the caste census is a binding order on all leaders, including the Chief Minister. Today, we have passed a unanimous resolution to follow through on this directive and to allocate resources in accordance with each community's population.'

Ravi further elaborated that the government will initiate the caste census on November 6, with an appeal for comprehensive participation from MPs, MLAs, MLCs, and other public representatives to ensure accuracy and transparency. The announcement follows Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara's call for public dissemination of the Karnataka Backward Classes Commission's caste census findings, underscoring the importance of transparency in the process.
