The Indian Army has paid a heartfelt tribute to its sniffer dog, Phantom, who was killed in a terrorist encounter in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu and Kashmir. The four-year-old Belgian Malinois became a hero as he played a crucial role in subduing the attackers.
Phantom sustained fatal injuries during the counter-ambush operation undertaken by the troops. Yet, his valorous act ensured the success of the mission, ultimately saving many lives.
A solemn wreath-laying ceremony took place in Udhampur on Wednesday, where Army personnel laid the national flag over his remains to honor his bravery. Officials hailed Phantom's sacrifice, pledging that his courage will not be forgotten.
