Ramesh Chennithala, Congress in-charge for Maharashtra, has launched a scathing attack on the Mahayuti alliance, arguing that unlike their rivals, the Congress has ensured equitable treatment for all parties within its Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition. He claimed that nominations had been successfully filed for all 288 seats by MVA candidates, emphasizing the absence of internal strife within their group.
Highlighting the tensions within the Mahayuti alliance, Chennithala pointed out the Bharatiya Janata Party's opposition to Nawab Malik's nomination as an NCP candidate in Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar. The controversy escalated after BJP leader Kirit Somaiya labeled Malik a terrorist with ties to Dawood Ibrahim, accusing Ajit Pawar's NCP of betraying the country by supporting Malik.
Further, Chennithala accused the BJP of undermining its own allies and urged independent Congressional nominees to withdraw. He also criticized the state government's Ladli Behen Yojana, alleging that funds were unavailable due to electoral restrictions. The Assembly elections are set for November 20, with results to be announced on November 23.
