The political scene in Kerala is embroiled in controversy following the suicide of Additional District Magistrate Naveen Babu. The ruling CPI(M) has expressed support for the state government's handling of the case, despite the arrest and judicial remand of party leader P P Divya.
CPI(M) state secretary M V Govindan defended the government's actions as correct and dismissed claims of theatrics by the opposition. He emphasized that any action against Divya remained an internal affair and would be decided by the party's state and district committees.
Meanwhile, the Kannur District Collector, Arun K Vijayan, clarified that inaccuracies existed in reporting Divya's anticipatory bail court order. The judicial observations stated the incident appeared premeditated, with Divya criticized for allegedly provoking the ADM's tragic demise.
