In a significant political shift, Shaina NC, formerly a spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party, has joined forces with the Shiv Sena to contest the upcoming elections in the Mumbadevi constituency. Expressing her deep roots in the city, she described Mumbai as both her 'Karmabhoomi' and 'Janmabhoomi'.
Shaina's decision comes ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, scheduled to take place on November 20, with votes being counted on November 23. She will go head-to-head against Congress incumbent Amin Patel, who has held the seat since 2009. Critiquing Patel's track record, Shaina advocates for innovative leadership under the Mahayuti alliance.
The political landscape marks a contest between traditional and new strategies, with parties fighting for dominance as shown in previous elections. In 2019, BJP secured 105 seats, Shiv Sena 56, and Congress 44. In 2014, BJP won 122 seats, Shiv Sena 63, and Congress 42, reflecting a competitive battleground.
