In a heartfelt disclosure, former MLA YS Vijayamma has addressed the contentious dispute between her son, YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, and her daughter, YS Sharmila, who is the Andhra Pradesh Congress President. Expressing deep sorrow, Vijayamma noted the challenge of witnessing familial discord, especially as Sharmila had always supported her brother.
Vijayamma recounted the family's history, explaining that when their father, Rajasekhar Reddy, was alive, there was no formal division of assets. The family maintained unity until his untimely demise. As per an MOU from 2019, Jagan was allocated a 60% share and Sharmila 40%, though initially, they shared equally. Vijayamma emphasized that the distribution was intended as a formal responsibility rather than an act of generosity.
She voiced concern over the spread of misinformation regarding family matters and urged an approach centered on truth and family solidarity. While acknowledging Sharmila's significant contributions to Jagan's political rise, Vijayamma called for understanding and resolution of the sibling tension, stressing the impact of calumny on both family reputation and the state's well-being.
