As the nomination deadline for the Maharashtra assembly elections has passed, a trend emerges: the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress have significant changes in their candidate lists. Notably, BJP chose not to endorse eight of its sitting MLAs, while Congress opted to replace five.
Among the notable changes, BJP has replaced Sunil Rane with Sanjay Upadhyay for the Borivali assembly segment and Ashwini Jagtap with Shankar Jagtap in Chinchwad. This wave of new faces reflects a strategic move ahead of the elections on November 20.
Meanwhile, Congress has opted for fresh faces like Hemant Ogale over Lahu Kanade and Rajkumar Puram replacing Sahasram Korote. Shiv Sena maintained loyalty to its MLAs, largely retaining its incumbent lineup, except for Shrinivas Vanga in Palghar.
