In a robust push toward skill-based job creation, India's central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is prioritizing youth employability. A substantial Rs 3 lakh crore has been allocated in the latest budget to this end, announced Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel, HD Kumaraswamy, on Tuesday.
The second phase of the Prime Minister's Rozgar Mela saw appointment letters distributed to 51,000 selected youths across multiple central government departments at 40 locations nationwide. This large-scale event, conducted virtually, was graced by Prime Minister Modi's participation, while Minister Kumaraswamy handed out appointment letters to 25 youths in Bengaluru.
Minister Kumaraswamy emphasized PM Modi's vision for 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047, backed by the integration of significant budgetary support aimed at MSMEs. Underpinning this drive are initiatives like Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat, along with the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, which are all seen as key drivers in transforming India into the world's third-largest economy.
The postal department was notably mentioned for its contribution, having provided jobs to 30,000 and 20,000 youths in the first and second phases of the Rozgar Mela respectively. Prime Minister Modi distributed over 51,000 employment letters via video conferencing, underscoring his commitment to prioritizing employment generation.
The Rozgar Mela, orchestrated across 40 nationwide locations, integrates recruits into various ministries and departments such as Revenue, Higher Education, Home Affairs, Defence, and Health and Family Welfare. This initiative aligns with the Prime Minister's dedication to boosting employment in the nation.
