Shaina NC, a former spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has switched political allegiances by resigning from her party to join Shiv Sena. She filed her nomination papers as the Shiv Sena candidate for the Mumbadevi assembly constituency in Mumbai on Tuesday.
Before her nomination, Shaina visited the temple dedicated to Mumbai's patron goddess, Mumbadevi, seeking blessings for her election campaign, which is scheduled for November 20. She will be competing against Congress' Amin Patel, a formidable opponent who has maintained an undefeated streak in this Muslim-dominated area since 2009.
Shaina expressed her confidence in the Mahayuti alliance, under Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's leadership, which she believes will triumph in the state elections. She pledged dedication to the all-round development of the Mumbadevi area, aiming to unseat the current dominance of Amin Patel.
