Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has ramped up her campaign ahead of the Wayanad bypoll, targeting the BJP-led Central government for its alleged neglect of landslide rehabilitation in the district. She claims the government has not allocated funds, thus neglecting affected residents.
Speaking at a corner meeting in Eengapuzha, Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi's administration of prioritizing a small group of business interests over the general populace. She criticized policies such as demonetisation for favoring a few corporate entities and overlooking widespread public needs.
This intensified critique comes as Gandhi makes her electoral debut, contesting against LDF's Sathyan Mokeri and the BJP's Navya Haridas. The by-election, triggered by Rahul Gandhi's resignation of the seat, is set for November 13. In her campaign, Priyanka underscores her commitment to Wayanad's core values of social harmony, secularism, and justice.
