Jharkhand's Political Showdown: Focus on Identity and Governance Amidst Electioneering
Jharkhand's political landscape heats up as BJP and opposition leaders spar over identity, governance, and infiltration issues in the run-up to elections. Babulal Marandi emphasizes saving Jharkhand from 'cheats and looters,' while CM Hemant Soren attacks BJP's divisive tactics and calls for accountability on national security.

In the politically charged environment of Jharkhand, BJP President Babulal Marandi has shifted the narrative at a recent campaign event in Giridih, focusing less on electing a Chief Minister and more on what he describes as 'saving the state from cheats and looters.'
Marandi's comments came as he echoed sentiments about the infiltration crisis, aligning with Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's push for the National Register of Citizens (NRC) should BJP claim power. 'This election is not just about governance but about purging intermediaries who have exploited Jharkhand's resources,' Marandi asserted.
Conversely, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren counters this narrative, criticizing the BJP for fostering division and failing marginalised communities. Soren openly challenges BJP leaders to scrutinize their own governance capabilities, particularly around the sensitive issue of Bangladeshi infiltration, ahead of the pivotal elections on November 13 and 20.
