The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has disclosed its second batch of candidates, intensifying its campaign for the Maharashtra Assembly elections set for 2024. Aiming to solidify its stronghold, the NCP's latest list features some notable contenders.
Significantly, Sana Malik, daughter of party stalwart Nawab Malik, is poised to campaign from Anushakti Nagar. In another strategic move, Zeeshan Siddiqui, who joined NCP earlier in the day, has been nominated for the Bandra East seat. Expressing gratitude, Siddiqui acknowledged support from party leadership, including Ajit Pawar, Praful Patel, and Sunil Tatkare, after securing his nomination.
In a tactical shift, former BJP stalwarts Nishikant Patil and Sanjaykaka Patil will contest for Islampur and Tasgaon-Kavathe Mahankal, respectively, having joined the party in Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar's presence. The list also includes influential names like Sunil Tingre for Vadgaon Sheri and Pratap Patil Chikhlikar for Iron. As the assembly polls are slated for November 20, stakes are high with counting on November 23.
