In a vehement critique, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Tarun Chugh targeted Congress figure Priyanka Gandhi Vadra concerning her candidacy for Wayanad's Lok Sabha by-poll, lambasting her and her husband as mere 'tourists' in the region, indifferent to local worries after allegedly exploiting Haryana farmers.
Chugh further contended that Congress disrespected its SC community president, Mallikarjun Kharge, during Priyanka's nomination process, claiming it reflects a larger pattern of disdain for Dalits and tribal members by the party. Priyanka Gandhi filed her nomination at Kalpetta's district collectorate on Wednesday.
Prior to filing her nomination, Priyanka, joined by her brother Rahul Gandhi, led a prominent roadshow and rally in Kalpetta. The by-election for Wayanad, previously held by Rahul Gandhi, who maintained his Rae Bareli constituency, is set for November 13.
