Elon Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur, significantly boosted his financial support for Donald Trump, contributing about $44 million to the America PAC during early October, according to federal disclosures released on Thursday. This is part of Musk's intensified backing for Trump's campaign in the upcoming November 5 election.
The reports, filed with the Federal Election Commission, reveal that Musk's America PAC has been focusing on voter mobilization in critical states pivotal to the electoral outcome. By the first half of October, America PAC spent over $47 million, playing a crucial role in Trump's campaign along with other external groups.
Separate filings indicate that Trump's campaign had expended over $88 million on advertising during the same period, maintaining $36 million for the remaining campaign phase. Meanwhile, Kamala Harris' campaign surpassed Trump's in fundraising with $97 million raised, spending over $130 million in early October, and holding $119 million in reserve by mid-month.
