In a shocking diplomatic development, India's high commissioner to Canada, Sanjay Verma, has criticized Ottawa for unprofessional conduct. Verma, recently recalled to India, expressed dismay over Canada's lack of cooperation regarding Khalistan supporters, whom he accuses of criminal activities for electoral support.

Verma, previously India's ambassador to Japan and Sudan, was taken aback when he was declared a 'person of interest' in the investigation into the June 2023 killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar. In his first interview post-return, Verma accused Canada of disregarding serious concerns in favor of electoral gains.

The diplomat highlighted that the actions taken were unprecedented in his 36-year career, stressing Canada's failure to use existing diplomatic tools. He stated that the Khalistani movement thrives on illegal activities, with Canadian authorities turning a blind eye due to political interests.
