The AJSU Party, an ally of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Jharkhand, has announced Dinesh Chandra Boipai as its candidate for the Manoharpur assembly seat. This nomination was part of the party's strategy as it released its initial list of candidates for the upcoming polls.

Under the current seat-sharing arrangement within the NDA, the AJSU Party is set to contest 10 seats, while its partners JD(U) and LJP (Ram Vilas) will field candidates for two and one seat respectively. Meanwhile, the BJP will vie for the remaining 68 seats in the assembly elections.

Dinesh Chandra Boipai previously contested the Manoharpur seat in the 2019 elections as a candidate from the Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist), where he garnered 1,178 votes. The seat was ultimately claimed by JMM's Joba Majhi, defeating BJP's Gurucharan Nayak by 16,019 votes. The Jharkhand assembly elections are scheduled to take place in two phases, with voting on November 13 and November 20, and results expected on November 23.
