In a strategic move ahead of the Jharkhand assembly elections, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) revealed its third candidate list on Wednesday. The list includes notable incumbents such as Chamra Linda, Sukhram Oraon, and Jiga Susaran Horo, representing Bishunpur, Chakradharpur, and Sisai seats, respectively.
The party's campaign strength is reflected in past victories, with Linda having won by a margin of 17,382 votes in 2019, and similar successes recorded by Sukhram Oraon and Jiga Susaran Horo. On the same day, JMM had released a list of 35 candidates, featuring high-profile contenders like Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his family members.
The assembly elections are scheduled for November in two phases, with heightened political activity expected. An alliance with INDIA bloc partners further strengthens JMM's position, as they and Congress vie for the majority of the seats, leaving some to RJD and Left parties. The BJP remains a formidable opponent, contesting 68 seats.
