In a significant political statement, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma declared that the formation of a new district named after Lord Ram or Krishna would occur if the BJP clinches victory in Jharkhand. He made this announcement while campaigning for the party's candidate in an election rally.

Targeting the prevailing demographic changes, Sarma criticized the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha for its silence on the infiltration issue, allegedly to safeguard its vote bank. The BJP has placed a substantial focus on expelling Bangladeshi infiltrators as one of its key agendas.

The state of Jharkhand is preparing for a two-phase election on November 13 and 20, with results expected on November 23, adding to the fervor of political discourse and campaign strategies.
