Jamie Dimon Considers Treasury Secretary Role Under Harris Presidency
Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan Chase, might consider a role as Treasury Secretary if Kamala Harris wins the U.S. presidential election. Although Dimon hasn't publicly stated this, he's previously been linked to US economic policy roles. Nonetheless, he downplays the probability of accepting such a position.
Jamie Dimon, the CEO of JPMorgan Chase, is reportedly open to considering the role of Treasury Secretary should Kamala Harris become President, as per The New York Times on Tuesday.
While he remains discreet about his intentions, partly due to concerns about potential fallout if Donald Trump wins, he's been long-considered for senior US economic positions. On a recent earnings call, Dimon mentioned the likelihood of such an opportunity arising as "almost nil," while keeping the door slightly ajar for reconsideration.
A source close to Dimon echoed his stance, noting he could contemplate a significant position regardless of the ruling party, if it promises a substantial impact. JPMorgan has yet to comment; responses from the Harris and Trump campaigns are still pending.
