The first day of the nomination process for the Maharashtra assembly elections saw 57 candidates filing their papers, as confirmed by Election Commission officials.
The Nawapur constituency in the Nandurbar district witnessed four nominations, followed by three each in the Khed Alandi, Shevagoan, and Ahilyanagar constituencies.
Among major political parties, the ruling Mahayuti coalition and opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi have not released their candidate lists, unlike the BJP, which disclosed 99 candidates. Nominations close on October 29, with elections on November 20.
